Observe the child examining books independently.
No elicitation needed.
The child examines books, and labels objects and actions in the book.
Encourage parents to keep books where children can access them independently. Board books are fairly indestructible. More fragile books can be placed out of reach, but shared jointly. Adults can begin to teach children about care of books and being “gentle” with the pages, tabs, etc.
