No elicitation needed.
With increased verbalization, the child vocalizes what he wants to do and what he did. Listen for expression of pride, such as, “Look, me do it!
Encourage early childhood educators and parents to comment on what the child does independently. Emphasize how the child did it. “You worked hard!” “You did it all by yourself!” This is better than the vague, “Good job.”
