Comment on what the child is doing with the toys and ask questions. “Is that Mommy’s book or Sam’s book?”

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to play and read books with the child. Encourage early childhood educators and parents to model the use of possessives and connecting words when reading or playing. For example, “Look. The bear is holding two things. What has he got in his paws?”
