Moves up and down the slide at the park

Situations for Observation of Skill

Take the child to a place with a small slide.

Elicitation Strategy

Encourage the child to go up the slide after watching others do so.

Behavior Observed

The child climbs a short ladder using arms and legs to position himself into sit and slide.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Parks are great for exposing children to equipment they may not have at home. Climbing a ladder is an important opportunity for children, as it uses all limbs and requires balance, weight shifting, and alternating bilateral skills.
