If the child is in a child care program watch the child in group circle games. If the child is at home watch with siblings or with all adults playing a group game.
Play a simple game such as hide-and-seek or a sing a song with a finger play.
The child may not understand the rules of the game, but wants to play. He may make up own rules.
Encourage parents to play games with their child. Share ideas with them (such as songs and finger plays) so they understand what options they have.
