Cooperates in games with others

Situations for Observation of Skill

If the child is in a child care program watch the child in group circle games. If the child is at home watch with siblings or with all adults playing a group game.

Elicitation Strategy

Play a simple game such as hide-and-seek or a sing a song with a finger play.

Behavior Observed

The child may not understand the rules of the game, but wants to play. He may make up own rules.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to play games with their child. Share ideas with them (such as songs and finger plays) so they understand what options they have.
