Observe the child when the adult is leaving the child with another adult.
No elicitation needed.
The child may cry for a period, but calm when reassured and distracted with toys and/or other children.
Let parents know that it is easier for children to develop independence when they have regular separations. Parents need a night out or a day out. Getting children used to new adults teaches them self-reliance and self-confidence.
