Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child during construction or art activities. Provide materials such as paper, markers, safety scissors, glue stick, stickers, etc.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation may be needed.

Behavior Observed

The child works diligently to create a complex product with blocks or art materials. She then seeks out an adult to show the final result.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Even homes that do not have many resources can find scrap paper, crayons, and fasteners. Boxes can be used for blocks. Encourage families to provide all types of materials for children to explore and combine in creative ways.
