The child engages with peers to discuss the characters, plot, props needed, etc. The play sequences evolve through discussion and play dialogue.

Play with miniatures requires a higher level of thinking, because children need to think about the actions and language of multiple characters at the same time. Adults should provide miniature characters (e.g., family members, superheroes, story characters, etc.) for children to create narratives. Also give children materials to create props for their characters (e.g., blocks, paper, tape, string, toys furniture, cars, etc.).
