Draws a face with features in proximity and understanding of the head (enclosure)

Situations for Observation of Skill

Give the child paper and crayons or markers.

Elicitation Strategy

Ask the child to draw a person.

Behavior Observed

Makes a circle and adds marks inside the circle to resemble a face.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Children are expanding their drawings from people to objects. Early childhood educators and parents should encourage children to notice things in their environment and try drawing them. For example, draw the slide on the playground or the television set at home.
