Give the child paper and crayons or markers.
Ask the child to draw a person.
Attempts to draw familiar objects with their various parts (parts may not be connected correctly).
Children are expanding their drawings from people to objects. Early childhood educators and parents should encourage children to notice things in their environment and try drawing them. For example, draw the slide on the playground or the television set at home.
