Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The child helps develop a play narrative and plays a contributing character with consistent actions and dialogue. Play ideas, actions, and dialogue are negotiated with peers.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Children now understand each other’s actions and intentions. They need opportunities to jointly plan play narratives. These can be based on themes, stories, or their own fantasies. Provide props or materials to make props for their ideas. Encourage parents to have play dates.
