Have a variety of household items in a play area, including dishes, utensils, blankets, etc.
Be a play partner for the child and begin to role play being a mommy and baby.
The child will pretend to eat, sleep, and may pretend to wash up.
Encourage early childhood educators and parents to become involved as a play partner in the child’s play. They can provide ideas, model, and carry on conversations that allow the child to practice language. Ideas for dramatic play at this age come from the child’s daily routines.
