Uses real and pretend objects together functionally
Provide real objects, such as a phone or plates and utensils along with pretend objects such as plastic food or pictures of food.
The adult may need to suggest a play scenario of cooking or planting flowers, etc.
The child can use the real objects (dishes, shovels) to pretend with the objects that look real but are not.
