Makes circular marks on paper

Situations for Observation of Skill

Provide paper and crayons.

Elicitation Strategy

Wait to see what the child does spontaneously. After the child makes some marks, the adult can make a drawing and tell the child what he drew. The child will try to make some similar marks.

Behavior Observed

Circular motions should be appearing on the paper.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to provide a magic erase board or other marking tools for the child to practice her fine motor skills. The magic erase boards are good because they can be used over and over. The stamps add another element, so the child can feel successful immediately.
