Climbs down from adult chair

Observe the child after she has climbed into a chair and is ready to get down.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The child uses motor planning to turn over and slide down off of the chair. The child uses upper body strength to drop down.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage early childhood educators and parents to provide opportunities for the child to explore and climb. For example, provide boxes that children can climb in, sit in, and climb out. Let them experience movement while sitting in a wagon.
