Observe children during the classroom routines and play activities.
If no opportunity arises, the adult can do a small group activity, such as an art activity, where only a few of various items are available (markers, glue, etc.). This forces children to have to share.
The child asks to share or borrow items from peers. He may not always say, “Please” or “Thank you.”
Activities where children need to share materials encourage cooperation. Early childhood educators can remind children about the importance of asking permission before taking what they want or need.
