Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child’s interactions with an adult or siblings during routines and play time.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation may be necessary, but the adult can be encouraged to laugh at the child’s funny actions.

Behavior Observed

The child repeats actions that make others laugh.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Help parents understand that the infant wants to bring out the positive feelings in everyone. He also wants others to pay positive attention to him. Provide games and music to encourage playful interaction and joint laughter.
