Observe the infant when sitting in an infant seat or lying down.

Behavior Observed

The infant turns to the sound of the speaker’s voice. This localization to sound helps babies “find” loved ones.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage early childhood educators and parents to talk to the child as often as possible, even when a few feet away. This helps the baby learn how to find the adult.
