Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child lying on her back and stomach.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

Many of the child’s movements are reflexive. Voluntary movements are generated through excitement or interest.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

The infant needs to spend time on her tummy and back. Let parents know that lying on the back gives the infant an opportunity to explore movement of the arms and legs.
