Observe the child dressing and undressing when going outside and coming back in.
Start with the child’s shoes off, so the child can help put them on. Let the child initiate putting the shoes on and requesting help.
The child is able to put shoes on part way.
Provide baby dolls for children to dress for practice. Add older siblings or adult’s shoes, hats, etc. in dramatic play for children to try to put on.
