Blows and wipes own nose with some help

Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child during daily activities or interview the adult.

Elicitation Strategy

Ask the adult what the child is able to do independently for blowing and wiping the nose and washing the body.

Behavior Observed

The child independently cares for a runny nose.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Children can now do self-care tasks, but remind early childhood educators and parents that children still need supervision and occasional assistance.
