Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child with teeth brushing and hand washing.

Elicitation Strategy

After lunch or snack have the child brush his teeth with his own toothbrush and toothpaste.

Behavior Observed

The child independently engages in teeth brushing and hand washing and drying.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Early childhood educators and parents can help children learn the steps in a skill sequence by taking pictures and having them posted for children to follow.
