Enjoys shaking and banging

Situations for Observation of Skill

Watch the child handle various materials he can handle easily.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The child grasps and moves arms easily now, so shaking is the natural response to discover what the object does.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Exploration of many different types of materials is important. Everything handed to a child does not need to be a toy or make noise. Children will explore properties by using actions they know. They look, feel, explore, listen and discover what the object has to offer.
