Bangs toys

Situations for Observation of Skill

Give the child an object to bang on the high chair table.

Elicitation Strategy

Elicit sounds if needed by modeling and banging on the table as well.

Behavior Observed

Infant bangs toys on high chair or table.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Inform parents that shaking and banging are the beginning of learning about how to impact the environment. It is also the beginning of learning about rhythm and beat. Play music and the whole family can bang a beat together. The infant will find this great fun!
