Observe the adult dressing the infant after diapering.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The child’s limbs are easily moved into different positions for dressing with no resistance from the child.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to talk to the infant during diapering. Try bicycling the child’s legs and moving body parts in different ways. Feeling touch and movement helps the child develop body awareness and stimulate initiation of movement.
