Observe the child in dramatic play with other children.
“Let’s pretend to be a family. Who wants to be a mommy or daddy or sister or brother? What should we do?” Let the children establish the hierarchy and actions.
He will demonstrate what he knows about interactions with siblings. Children without siblings will demonstrate relationships with peers.
Encourage parents to observe and/ or participate in their children’s dramatic play to get insights into how they view roles in the family.
