Read a book where the characters are children.
Ask the gender of the children in the book. Then ask the child, “Are you a boy or a girl?”
The child correctly states gender.
Encourage early childhood educators and parents to talk about gender, culture, race, disability, and other differences the child notices. Talk objectively about what the differences are, but also point out the similarities.
