Associative socio-dramatic play among peers. (play together, but with different goals)

Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child with familiar peers in dramatic play.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The child now plays nicely with preferred peers, as she wants to please others. She will engage in dramatic play with the same props and have the same theme to her play.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to have play dates for their child. If the child has other children they know, ask her whom she would like to invite. Because children are starting to make friends, they may have a preference for whom to invite.
