The child plays primarily with same gender children and from these chooses those who like the same type of play activities.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Children not only notice differences, they notice similarities. It is typical for children to start choosing children for play partners who have similar interests and skills. They may need encouragement to allow others into their play.
