Observe children in group activities in the classroom.
No elicitation needed.
The child will watch other children and react to their emotions, getting excited when others are excited. She may also assume a role of comforter or helper when a peer is upset or frustrated.
Children attend longer to activities allowing movement and talking or singing. Intersperse such activities between academic “work” or endeavors requiring sitting and focusing.
