Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child in the classroom during different activities.

Elicitation Strategy

Talk to the child about what she does outside of school.

Behavior Observed

The child may follow classroom expectations and rules but resist chores and rules at home. The child is able to fit into different groups and perform according to expectations in different settings.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Children are members of different groups at home, school, and in the community. They are beginning to understand that their behavior and interactions may differ with different people and in different settings. For instance, play with Dad is different than play with Mom or sister or brother. Dress for church is different than dress for soccer, etc.
