Dance movements are precise and coordinated

Situations for Observation of Skill

Pick one of the children's favorite songs with several verses (such as “Hush, Little Baby”). Let different children act, dramatize, and/or dance during each verse while the class sings the song.

Elicitation Strategy

Teach the children the song and assign different children to perform during each verse. Let the children create their own performance for their verse.

Behavior Observed

The child will be able to keep time to the rhythm and add movements to match the emotions of the song.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to have talent shows at home. This is a fun way for children to build self- confidence. Parents can also pick out emerging talents that can be nurtured.
