Read a book about the different seasons and the weather. Discuss clothing that is worn during each season. Observe the child dressing in the dramatic play area and when going outside to play.
Ask questions about what the child wears in different weather and why. Provide different types of clothing in the dramatic play area, so the child practices using different fasteners, etc.
The child uses more complex closures, such as zippers and belt loops.
Give children an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. Let them become clothing designers for different weather in various countries, after they have studied the people, costumes, and weather in a country of their choice.
