No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

The infant stares at the child with intense interest and begins to move and vocalize in an apparent attempt to get the child’s attention.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Show siblings how to “talk” to the baby through imitation of the sounds the baby makes. Tell them to give the baby time to respond. The siblings will feel powerful when they discover they can get the baby to talk.
