Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the infant drinking from a bottle and cup, and eating soft food.

Elicitation Strategy

The adult hands the child a cracker or soft biscuit.

Behavior Observed

The infant reaches for the biscuit and takes a bite.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

The infant is becoming more involved in eating and drinking. Encourage early childhood educators and parents to give the infant as much control as they can handle.
