Observe the baby when another baby is close by.
No elicitation is needed. If the babies do not approach each other, set them within touching distance of each other with their toys.
Now that the infant is mobile and can move or crawl, he will approach the other infant and attempt to interact. When babies are sitting next to each other they will physically explore one another.
Spending time with other babies allows infants to expand their understanding of different people. Because other babies are similar to them, they are particularly enthralled with exploring this person. Encourage play dates even among infants. (It’s fun for parents too!)
