Moves to hands and knees from sit

Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child in play on the floor. Either place the child in sit or let the child assume a sitting position.

Elicitation Strategy

Place several more toys around the child.

Behavior Observed

The child moves from sit into four-point position and reaches for a toy.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to let children spend time sitting outside of a strapped in seat. Children need to sit unsupported to play, move, and explore to develop their gross motor skills.
