Provide a doll and caretaking props.
Hand the baby doll to the child next to the caretaking materials.
The child should now repeat one or two familiar actions with the doll.
Encourage early childhood educators and parents to have the child include the baby in routines of the day. The baby can come to lunch, on a walk, and to bed. This gives the child an opportunity to repeat actions performed on him on the baby doll.
