Tries to put shoes on, usually gets half way

Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child dressing and undressing when going outside and coming back in.

Elicitation Strategy

Start with the child’s shoes off, so the child can help put them on. Let the child initiate putting the shoes on and requesting help.

Behavior Observed

The child is able to put shoes on part way.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Provide baby dolls for children to dress for practice. Add older siblings or adult’s shoes, hats, etc. in dramatic play for children to try to put on.
