Situations for Observation of Skill

Provide paper and a crayon.

Elicitation Strategy

The adult demonstrates a back-and-forth scribble.

Behavior Observed

The child uses back-and-forth movements of his arm and hand to make a scribble.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Encourage parents to give the child the opportunity to experiment with crayons, markers, and other magic doodle devices. Make scribbling fun!
