Comforted by soft, rhythmic melodious sounds, music, and movement (stops crying)

Situations for Observation of Skill

Ask the parents about the infant’s preferences for music and movements. Which patterns cause the infant to stop fussing and focus on listening?

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed.

Behavior Observed

Parents identify what type of movements and music the child prefers.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Parents will often sing the same songs or play the same music, because they are familiar to the infant. Encourage introduction of different music types and movement patterns. Variety will help the infant develop a broader repertoire of pattern understanding.
