Situations for Observation of Skill

Listen to different types of instrumental music (piano, guitar, drums, horn, etc., as well as jazz, rock, classical, etc.) [Note: There are online sites and games to access these as well as phone apps.]

Elicitation Strategy

Ask the child which music he likes to listen to best. Let him pick the one he wants to listen to again.

Behavior Observed

The child identifies the instrumental music he likes.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Although parents have their own musical preferences, encourage them to expose their child to a variety of instrumental as well as vocal music.
