Observe the child with the parent and peers.
No elicitation needed.
While playing the child will vocalize or talk to the parent from a distance, showing objects or pointing things out.
Play dates are a good way to encourage the development of social skills. The child is now able to move away from the parent and expand interactions to peers and other adults.
