Behavior Observed

Begins choosing gender-preferred toys (trucks, blocks, etc. for boys; dolls, kitchen, etc. for girls), although plays with all toys.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Depending on family preferences, the child can be encouraged to play with non-gender specific toys. However, gender preferences will undoubtedly develop.
