Observe the infant when placed 5-10 feet away from the parent or familiar adult.

No elicitation is needed.

Behavior Observed

The infant will scoot or crawl to be near the adult. If seated too far away the infant will cry.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Being near an adult provides the child with a sense of security.
