Elicitation Strategy

Make a mark on the paper to demonstrate that the crayon leaves a mark.

Behavior Observed

The child bangs or drags the crayon on the paper.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Exposure to markers and paper encourages children to discover cause and effect, which is the beginning of motivating them to want to learn to write.
