Situations for Observation of Skill

Observe the child in play with peers. Include a doll and bottle or blanket in the toys.

Elicitation Strategy

No elicitation needed. If needed hand the doll to the child along with the bottle or blanket.

Behavior Observed

The child will pretend to feed the baby, cover it, or hug it.

Routines-based Intervention (Embedded Instruction)

Exposure to other children is important for expanding the child’s social skills and relationships. Introduction of dramatic play props such as dolls also encourages children to assume the roles they see in their family.
